September 2024: Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) Annual Conference - Make plans now to attend LMSA, September 20-22 in Los Angeles. We’ll be there hosting a luncheon, conducting two hands-on workshops, and networking at our expo booth. We look forward to meeting you!
SIR Abstract Program for LMSA 2024:
Attention students and residents who are SIR members, submit an accepted abstract for the LMSA conference and you could be eligible for a stipend to assist in supporting your travel costs to the conference. The stipend value is up to $500 per applicant, pending the total # of applicants.
Timing
- July 14: Abstracts due to LMSA - submission period now closed
- August 1 thru September 6: Application period for SIR stipend – Apply here. The application period has closed.
- Mid-September: Stipend notifications sent
- September 20-22: Conference
- Mid-October: Stipends distributed
Eligibility
- You must have submitted an accepted abstract for the 2024 LMSA annual conference in Los Angeles, September 20-22, 2024.
- Your abstract must be relevant to the practice of interventional radiology. Preferential support will be given to abstracts relating directly to the practice of interventional radiology and those advancing the themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion in medicine, such as the understanding or reduction of specific health disparities.
- You must be a medical student or first-year resident.
- You must be planning to attend the LMSA annual conference in September.
- You must be a current SIR member upon submission of your abstract. LMSA’s deadline is July 14. Not an SIR member? Join SIR today. First year is free for students. Annual dues for residents are $50.
- Once your abstract is accepted by LMSA, you must submit SIR’s online application for the stipend no later than 11:59 PM ET on September 6, 2024.
Details
- The stipend value is up to $500 per applicant, pending the total # of applicants.
- The stipend application process for accepted LMSA abstract presenters will open on August 1, 2024. Reminders will be posted on SIR social media and SIR Connect, so stay tuned.
- When applying for the stipend on the SIR website, you must be prepared to upload a copy of your abstract acceptance letter.
- Funds will be distributed to awardees via direct deposit only, in October.
