Course length: Self-paced, asynchronous

Course Coordinators: Jay Shah, MD, and Sheryl Tulin-Silver, MD

This course will empower board-certified interventional radiologists with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform common pediatric procedures more safely, effectively, and scientifically.

Upon completion of the training, learners will be able to apply evidence-based strategies, procedural adaptations, and decision-making frameworks to ensure safe, precise, and patient-centered pediatric interventional radiology care. By achieving these outcomes, learners will contribute to higher standards of care and better health outcomes for pediatric patients in a general interventional radiology practice.

The course will address key practice gaps by focusing on:

  • Current evidence-based techniques, safety protocols, and pediatric-specific modifications required to perform common interventional radiology procedures effectively in children.
  • Applying evidence-based strategies, procedural adaptations, and decision-making frameworks to ensure safe, precise, and patient-centered pediatric interventional radiology care.
  • Performing pediatric interventional radiology procedures safely, efficiently, and in adherence to the latest evidence-based guidelines, while confidently managing patient-specific challenges and reducing procedural risks
