On March 23 and 24, SIR members Clifford Weiss, MD, FSIR, and Rahul A. Sheth, MD, FSIR, and SIR staff participated in the Academy for Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research (ACADRAD) annual Hill day in Washington, D.C., asking members of Congress to support funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other research agencies that support IR research. Following the Hill activities on March 24, SIR representatives participated in MedTech 2026, demonstrating the power of IR treating diseases such as cancer to members of Congress and staff.

The next day, SIR's group participated in the Academy Research Roundtable Discussion, which convened representatives from academia, industry, societies, investigators, and more than 20 representatives from Health and Human Services Department agencies, including several NIH institutes, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Advanced Research Project Agency for Health, among others.
