SIR CPT® Adviser Julie C. Bulman, MD; Alternate CPT® Adviser Alexandra Fairchild, MD, FSIR; CPT® Members Ashok Bhanushali, MD, MBA, FSIR; Xin Li, MD; and SIR staff attended the American Medical Association (AMA) CPT® Editorial Panel meeting from Sept. 17–19. SIR, with collaborating societies, proposed CAT I codes for central venous catheter, renal nerve denervation, deep venous arterialization, stab phlebectomy, cryoablation of breast tumor and tibial intravascular lithotripsy. If the Category I codes are approved, they will be referred to the Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) for survey at the January 2027 meeting. CAT I codes will take effect Jan. 1, 2028. CAT III codes will take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
