SIR planned and hosted the meeting of the IR Caucus at this year’s American College of Radiology (ACR) annual meeting held in Washington, D.C. The IR Caucus discussed several ACR resolutions under consideration this year, including the development of an accreditation program for theranostics, the regulation and control of artificial intelligence in radiology, and support of federal legislation clarifying the role and reimbursement of registered radiologist assistants. 

Additionally, ACR held its leadership elections on May 5, resulting in two key victories for interventional radiologists: Timothy L. Swan, MD, FSIR, was elected president of the ACR Council, and Timothy A. Crummy, MD, was elected to the ACR Board of Chancellors. 

The caucus also congratulated the IRs among the 2025 Fellows of ACR (FACR). They are:
