On June 9, the House Appropriations Committee advanced the Fiscal Year 2027 Labor-Health and Human Services (HHS) appropriations bill, which included $47.3 billion for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and $1.5 billion for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). The bill, which passed 34-28, included a manager’s amendment expressing concern over delayed NIH grant announcements, noting that the amount of funding has decreased 50% due to the delays.
