SIR has unveiled its 2025–2029 education strategy—a comprehensive roadmap designed to strengthen the professional growth of interventional radiologists at every career stage. Built on the society’s mission to improve patient health through image-guided therapy, the strategy establishes a dynamic, data-driven learning ecosystem that connects education, innovation and leadership development across the IR career continuum.

The strategy centers on four key priorities. First, SIR is expanding its lifelong learning pathway—from Residency Essentials and early-career certificates to advanced leadership programs and mid-career offerings. This continuum ensures consistent, competency-based education and a clear progression from trainee to practice leader. Second, through the new SIR Education Center, learning will become more flexible and personalized, integrating digital certificates, gamified modules and hybrid formats to meet the needs of a modern, mobile workforce. Third, SIR will strengthen clinical mastery through cross-specialty collaborations and innovation programs that connect IRs with industry, regulators and researchers to accelerate device development and translational education. Finally, a governance framework and performance dashboards will ensure accountability, quality and measurable impact across all educational initiatives.

SIR’s education strategy is more than a plan—it’s a commitment to help every IR adapt to the evolving demands of clinical practice, business leadership, and technological innovation. Together, these initiatives reaffirm SIR’s role as the home for lifelong learning in interventional radiology.
