Interpreting Emerging Evidence in Intermediate‑High Risk Pulmonary Embolism:
Implications for Interventional Clinical Performance
Join experts from SCAI and the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) to discuss the updated Guidelines for the Evaluation and Management of Acute Pulmonary Embolism in Adults. Faculty will discuss the HIPIETHO and STORM-PE trials and utilize real-world case examples to demonstrate the relevance of this emerging data to your own practice.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Summarize the design and outcomes of HI PEITHO and STORM PE as they relate to intermediate high-risk pulmonary embolism (PE).
Compare anticoagulation alone vs. reperfusion strategies (ultrasound-facilitated thrombolysis and computer assisted vacuum thrombectomy) on RV/LV remodeling, clinical deterioration, and safety.
Apply trial evidence to patient selection, escalation pathways, and institutional protocols to improve clinical performance.
