Take a deep dive into interventional radiology by attending the SIR 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting as a Medical Student Scholar
SIR 2024 Medical Student Scholar Program Information
The application window is now CLOSED. Applications will be in review by SIR's volunteer physician reviewers.
All applicants to this program will be advised of the final outcome by end first week of December, 2023.
The SIR 2024 Medical Student Scholar Program provides medical students with an immersive experience to learn about IR at an early stage in their medical careers.
Scholar program benefits:
The following required application materials to be submitted within the online application:
An optional letter of recommendation from an attending physician (the attending physician does not have to be an interventional radiologist). After you submit your online scholar program application, the receipt of application will include a link to send to your attending physician to submit an optional letter of recommendation on your behalf.
***If you intend to submit an optional letter of recommendation, it is due by Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, midnight/PT. Please submit your application in advance of the submission due date to ensure your attending has enough time to submit your letter.
Post-meeting essay requirement
Upon returning home, scholarship recipients must submit a 500-word essay about their experience, which may be published in part or in its entirety in society publications or on the SIR website. In your essay, please describe your experiences at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. Once the final essay is received, scholarship recipients will receive their $1,000 stipends via wire transfer.
