Residency Essentials covers everything core to IR which will be presented in over 45 clinical topic and 4 requisite knowledge modules designed for residents in PGY 5-7. This program provides residents with up-to-date educational material delivered in a program specific portal in the SIR learning center that can be accessed anytime, anywhere. 

Residency Essentials: The Fundamentals is it's own module and will be available to purchase in the fall of 2020. It is designed as a pre-requisite to Residency Essentials. Fundaments should be purchased for residents in their PGY-2-4 years. 

Program directors can provide a uniform and comprehensive didactic curriculum as required by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) IR Residency program requirements (section IV.C.) and document and track an individual resident's performance and mastery of a subject area as required by the ACGME (section V.A.1).

Clinical Topics

Clincal modules will consist of 4-6 hours of material including recorded didactic lectures and articles; pre- and post-assesments and additional resources.

  • Pediatric
  • Vascular
  • Women's health


Requisite Knowledge

The Requisite Knowledge modules will include the following topics and be released all of once for residents to complete at their own pace.

  1. Business and law
  2. Systems
  3. Physician wellness and development
  4. Research and statistics




This section is a separate fee and is designed as a pre-requisite for Residency Essentials. This section should be purcahsed for PGY-2-4 residents.

Fundamentals modules will include the following topics and be released all at once for residents to complete during thier training years leading up to the IR residency

  • Clinical medicine
  • Intensive care medicine
  • Image-guided interventions
  • Imaging and anatomy
