Society of Interventional Radiology inducts new Fellows

Physicians recognized for achievements in research, teaching, published works and leadership at SIR 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting

AUSTIN, TEXAS (March 25, 2019)— The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) inducted 42 new Fellows during its Annual Scientific Meeting, March 23–28 in Austin, Texas. This honor, achieved by only 15 percent of eligible SIR members, is bestowed to those who have demonstrated excellence in interventional radiology by virtue of research and published works, teaching, and leadership within the field, along with contributions and involvement within the society.   

“SIR Fellows are leaders in the field with outstanding credentials, achievements and contributions to interventional radiology, SIR and SIR Foundation,” said SIR 2018–2019 President M. Victoria Marx, M.D., FSIR, interventional radiologist at Keck Medicine of USC, and professor of clinical radiology and diagnostic radiology residency program director at Keck School of Medicine of USC, Los Angeles. “Their dedication to the field, improving patient care and training the next generation of interventional radiologists keeps our specialty at the forefront of modern medicine.”
