What is the Fellows Spring Practicum?
This annual 2 ½ day course held every Spring in Chicago prepares IR fellows for private practice or academia with training that may not have been covered extensively during the fellowship year. Focus is given to peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and interventional oncology (IO).
It is also an excellent opportunity for fellows to network with each other, interventional radiologists from both academic & private practice settings, and several device representatives.
This meeting hosts over 100 attendees plus an additional 24 faculty members. The course is designed for current vascular and interventional radiology fellows. It is also open to a limited number of general SIR members, including 4th-year residents and early career IRs.

Go to the main meeting page for objectives, program, and more.

Corporate Participation

What's your company's role?
The Fellows Spring Practicum is an excellent opportunity to welcome 100+ fellows to the start of their practice as attending interventional radiologists.

Being an exhibitor at this meeting is the essential way to showcase your brand, products, trainings and services. Other aspects include:
- Recognition on materials sent to all members of the SIR community (over 7,000)
- Prominent recognition during the Practicum via signage, tables, and thank yous from the podium
- Right to participate in the hands-on program, for focused and memorable interactions with attendees

How can your company get more deeply involved?
Providing an educational grant, for the Practicum or another SIR activity, allows your business to strengthen specific topics in medical education. Your company's support of the meeting will be recognized repeatedly through signage, in verbal thanks by lecturers and across many other avenues.

Companies with wider interest in supporting interventional radiology as a vital and innovative field may want to investigate the Corporate Ambassador Program (CAP). CAP is a unified platform for corporate grantmaking and comes with a range of opportunities for recognition, engagement and society updates.

Hands-on workshops

Register your company for workshops now!

SIR workshops are hands-on, vendor-led, interactive demonstrations of products and tools from a purely technical perspective. These encounters are often where attendees best absorb and compare detailed information about implements available for interventionalist practice.

Company participation in the workshops has no cost. However, your company must be participating as an exhibitor at this meeting to present your brand or any of your products or services to meeting attendees. You must also read and acknowledge SIR's terms of commercial support for each session you join using the online form.

Hands-on sessions are a distinct activity from exhibits.  They are held in separate rooms and are kept clear of any and all branded, trade, or promotional materials such as company draping or sell sheets.  Only clinical, scientific, or instructional articles are allowed.

Course directors select a topic in keeping with the major topics of this meeting.

Companies are offered a tabletop station in a vendor-neutral room, shared with other vendors, for attendees to rotate through at their own pace. The course directors and SIR emphasize that the encounter should be experiential, hopefully involving flow models, phantoms, digital visualization tools, and/or medical simulators to represent a true interventional experience.

Your company's representatives lead these demonstrations. You may request any physician to help proctor your hands-on station, although we do recommend choosing a physician already attending the meeting. You are responsible for making these arrangements but please contact us with any questions.

SIR provides tables, unmarked tablecloths, waste bins and electricity. Vendors are responsible for additional A/V and "food" items used as tissue samples (e.g., turkey breast).

You may also generate leads.
