SIR and the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology
We may all speak different languages—but we are one global community that wants to provide patients with state-of-the-art minimally invasive interventional radiology treatment choices.
As as we look toward our common future as interventional radiologists, it is increasingly clear that there is much to be gained from sharing. And it is our hope that this portal will assist in these efforts. Here you will discover resources to make interaction between our societies easier and more productive, and answers to questions about where to find things on the SIR website. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or need more information.Warm regards,
Brian Stainken, M.D., FSIR

ISVIR Annual Conference 2013: XTREME Interventions
Presenting an outstanding experience in Interventional Radiology. The organizing committee has framed a programme like nothing you have ever experienced before. It begins with basics for the beginner and builds up to lectures on extreme interventions in all areas of the body.
The programme is unique due to the unprecedented support of Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), of the United States. We have a great team coming over not only to share their experiences but also to open up a whole list of new avenues for partnership and training between Indian Interventional Radiologists and those in the U.S.
Hosted by the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology & the Society of Interventional Radiology
Feb. 14-17, 2013; Kovai Medical Center and Hospital, Coimbatore, India

Meet Dr. Pankaj Sharma, an SIR 2012 International ScholarDr. Sharma noted that his experience as an SIR International Scholar provided a "unique opportunity to check and improve my knowledge in interventional radiology with state-of-the-art advanced imaging equipment as well as a tremendous opportunity to interact with experts in the field of Interventional Radiology."
"SIR 2012 was an invaluable experience for a young radiologist like me," he said. "I would like to encourage everyone from developing countries like India to apply to the SIR International Travel Scholarship Program."
Because of his enthusiastic response to the program, Dr. Sharma has been named this year's International Scholarship Committee Ambassador and Mentor for the 2013 International Scholars.
